Description

For our GY151 module we have an optional fieldtrip on Friday 16th October 2026 to the Wicklow Mountains.  We will first visit Turlough Hill, a pumped storage hydro facility – the only one in Ireland.  This facility, run by the ESB, is a key element of the modern sustainability transmission system, enabling the addition of renewable energy. We will then travel to Glendalough where we will examine the valleys geomorphology i.e. how it was formed.
